Major milestone for £17m investment in Bury St Edmunds
A new centre designed to support jobs, skills and advanced manufacturing in West Suffolk is taking shape.
Construction of West Suffolk Council's new Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Centre in Bury St Edmunds has reached a major milestone, with the building's steel frame now complete.
The £17 million development at Suffolk Business Park will provide 17 flexible workshop units alongside meeting and conference facilities, creating a new home for growing businesses in one of Suffolk's most important economic sectors.
The centre is designed to encourage business growth and collaboration while creating opportunities for new jobs and skills development locally.
“I am pleased to see the state-of-the-art facility starting to take shape.”
Cllr Cliff Waterman
Leader of West Suffolk Council
Cliff said the project is a strong example of partnership working and innovation, with the new centre intended to provide the same opportunities for the businesses that will eventually call it home.
The project is being delivered by West Suffolk Council with support from partners including the Suffolk Business Board and Enterprise Zone funding.
